You could be saving time, money, energy – all while lounging and enjoying the sweet, sweet release of streaming TV.  Don’t believe us? Here are 5 tricks you need to use if you aren’t already!

1. Set Up Your Personal Watchlist

If your family has a list of favorite go-to movies or programs, set up personal watchlists to quickly retrieve your favorites. This makes it easier to find shows you and your children enjoy watching.

As a bonus perk, this feature keeps new episodes of your favorite shows at the top of the list. This way, you’ll always know when a new episode drops without the worry of missing a thing. There’s also an option to request alerts and receive email notifications when new episodes of your top picks are ready for viewing. Go a step further and request an email notification of shows expiring soon, so you’re not caught off guard when your favorite programs are no longer available.

2. Don’t Forget About Hulu Recommendations

You might eventually watch everything on your watchlist, which can be slightly irritating when you’re ready to sit down with a cold drink and a bowl of popcorn. Don’t want to search endlessly for something to watch? No worries. Simply head over to the Recommendations tab located in the Hulu drop down menu.

This feature is simple and super convenient because Hulu keeps a record of your viewing history. Based on what you’ve already watched, the service recommends movies and TV shows you might enjoy watching, so you don’t waste time. This offers a quicker way of finding something to watch, as well as a way to discover new programs.

3. Don’t Pay for Services You’re Not Using

Depending on how much you stream, you might feel like you can’t live without your Hulu subscription. Even so, if you know you won’t be watching Hulu for some time, there’s a feature that lets you put your subscription on hold for up to 12 weeks.

This perk comes in handy if you won’t have access to the internet for a while and you don’t want to pay for services you’re not currently using. Simply resume services when you’re ready.

4. Use Your Hulu App as a Remote

If you own a smartphone, you probably keep your phone by your side at all times – and that means you can download the Hulu app and start using your phone as a remote.

If you’re watching a program and suddenly realize the remote control is on the other side of the room, there’s no need to rise from a comfortable position to fetch it. Grab your phone and control your TV from anywhere in the room.

Plenti is a rewards program that partners with several retailers, including Rite Aid, Macy’s and AT&T. Swipe your Plenti card when shopping at these stores and earn points for free stuff, including cool bonuses on Hulu.
